Serge Aurier has already made his feelings clear on Mauricio Pochettino amid PSG transfer links

Mauricio Pochettino could be on the verge of pushing for a reunion with Serge Aurier at Paris Saint-Germain - but it's not always been a match made in heaven.

After failing to deliver the Ligue 1 title last season, the former Tottenham manager is currently working towards his first summer recruitment drive in the French capital.

Among his reported list of transfer targets is Ivorian defender Aurier, who has already outlined his decision not to sign a new contract with the Premier League club.

Now 28, the right-back has just over 12 months left to run on his deal - meaning he could be available for £17million, or around that mark, this summer.

Aurier, who has played 110 games across all competitions for Tottenham, scoring eight goals, last month stated that he had "reached the end of a cycle" in North London - putting big-spending PSG and other potential suitors on alert.

Would you allow Aurier to leave this summer? Let us know in the comments section below.

According to journalist Rudy Galetti, the ex-PSG man is keen on a return to his old club, where he would of course be reunited with a manager who welcomed him into the Premier League in 2017.

Speaking previously to French outlet L'Equipe, Aurier said: "Everyone knows that if I wanted to extend my contract at Tottenham, I'd have already done so."

Signed by Pochettino for Tottenham in a £22.5million deal, Aurier initially struggled for regular game-time.

That was largely down to competition in the right-back area from England international Kieran Trippier, who is now with Spanish champions Atletico Madrid, but playing second fiddle before breaking into the line-up might just have caused a little friction, previously, between Pochettino and Aurier - albeit not in public.

In a past interview with France Football, Aurier said: "There are things people don't see, because you don't show yourself enough. The first year, the coach [Pochettino] didn't make me play a lot, but I never went into his office to complain, I never showed a funny face. I don't play, I'm p***** off, but I don't show it."
