Serge Aurier delivers one-word response to Tottenham's north London derby defeat to Arsenal

Tottenham endured a miserable Sunday afternoon as they lost the north London derby 3-1 to Arsenal.

Spurs were hoping to bounce back after back-to-back Premier League defeats at the hands of two other London-based clubs in the form of Crystal Palace and Chelsea.

The Eagles scored three second-half goals in a fiery encounter at Selhurst Park a fortnight ago before Thomas Tuchel's side inflicted the same scoreline on the Lillywhites eight days later.

However, it was in the first half this time that Nuno Espirito Santo's men crumbled as the Gunners came out of the blocks firing on all cylinders, netting three goals in the first 35 minutes.

Spurs sat extremely deep, failing to press their rivals, who looked in control from minute one at the Emirates Stadium.

Prolific centre-forward Harry Kane also continued his struggles in front of goal, struggling to establish himself on proceedings before giving the ball away for Arsenal's third goal.

After the full-time whistle, former Tottenham right-back Serge Aurier took to social media to voice his thoughts on the game.

The Ivorian international simply posted "Wow" on his Instagram story, seemingly bemused by his old club's lacklustre display.

Aurier departed N17 in the summer, ending a four-year association with the club after it was announced that his contract has been terminated by mutual consent.

Spurs replaced the 28-year-old with Brazilian fullback Emerson Royal, who joined from Catalan giants Barcelona on deadline day.

The Lillywhites will be hoping that they can get back to winning ways in the Premier League this weekend as they host Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon before they will be handed some much-needed respite over the international break.
