Serge Atakayi set for Rangers permanent exit as Finland return fee revealed

Rangers youngster Serge Atakayi is set to join Finnish club SJK for around £100,000 in January.

The Ibrox forward – who was given his first-team debut by boss Steven Gerrard in 2018 – spent last summer on loan at SJK.

He has fallen out of favour at Gers after spending five months out with an ankle ligament injury.

And the 20-year-old will move back to his homeland in the New Year, when a host of fringe players are expected to depart.

Atakayi originally signed from FK Jaro in Finland three years ago.

And he still holds the record as the Finnish league’s youngest scorer after notching against HIFK aged just 16 years and 107 days.

After impressing in Rangers ’ youth set-up, he was eventually given a top team debut by Gerrard off the bench in last season’s 7-1 win over Motherwell .

But after falling down the pecking order this term, he’s looking to kick-start his career at SJK.
