Serendome at Bluestone opens to the public - this is what it's like inside

The latest attraction at Bluestone National Park Resort , which literally brings the outdoors indoors, has been unveiled to the public.

When you first enter the Serendome , a 380-feet high 'giant umbrella', you aren't quite sure whether you are outside or inside.

There are no sides to the structure and underneath the giant dome, made out of the same material as the Eden Project, there are towering trees, lush lawns and trickling streams.

High up in the 'sky', a breathtaking SkyWalk adventure course is suspended above the football pitch-sized playground below.

Serendome opened its doors to the public on Friday, July 19 and the Bluestone team has promised 'free range fun' for all visitors to the Pembrokeshire attraction.

From the SkyWalk vertical adventure course built over seven towers and featuring 24 climbing stations, to Bluestone's very own go-kart Grand Prix, there is something for everyone.

While the kids roam wild in the sandy play area or the 'imagination garden', adults can kick back and relax with a cocktail in the street food court.

At the heart of Serendome is a 400-seat amphitheatre featuring a new live music and performance venue. Hosting a dazzling series of spectacular shows involving nationally recognised production companies throughout the year, shows will kick off in November in the lead up to Christmas.

It cost £8.5million to build and Bluestone CEO William McNamara said the new attraction underlined his commitment to Pembrokeshire and Welsh tourism.

Mr McNamara said: "The opening of Serendome is a culmination of many years of hard work by our passionate staff working in partnership with excellent design and construction companies where they created a space like no other in the UK.

"To see children and families finally enjoying its unique attractions is a joy. Our guests can enjoy the fresh air, sit on the grass and play under the trees, whatever the weather."
