Simona Halep has defeated Serena Williams to win her first Women’s Singles title at SW19.
The Romanian put on a barnstorming display on Centre Court to beat the seven-time Wimbledon champion in straight sets: 6-2, 6-2.
Halep now adds her Wimbledon title to the French Open crown she won last year, and has dropped just one set throughout the tournament.
