Serena Williams is at the top of her game. Not only has she entered tennis season as the number one ranked player and the defending champion at seven tournaments - including the US Open and the WTA Finals - but she has also silenced anyone trying to bring her down by saying she’s got far more important things to be worried about.
"I love that I’m a full woman and I am strong, and I’m powerful, and I’m beautiful at the same time, and there’s nothing wrong like that," she told Good Morning America.
“It’s so important to look at the positives, if I get caught up looking at the negatives it can really bring you down.”
Williams has regularly been on the recieving end of cruel remarks on social media, although recently JK Rowling leapt to her side and took down a man who said Williams was “built like a man”.
She added, “I don’t have time to be brought down, I’ve got too many things to do. I have Grand Slams to win, I have people to inspire, and that’s what I’m here for.”
Hear, hear.
