Serena Williams has admitted that having a successful marriage is far from a breeze.
The tennis star, 39, has opened up about her union with husband Alexis Ohanian and says that marriage "is not bliss" without work.
"Marriage is not bliss," she told Bumble's The Question Game. "But it can be if you work at it."
The four-time Olympic gold medalist also added that "a deal-breaker for me in a relationship is definitely loyalty. Well, not having it, that is."
Serena and Reddit founder Alexis said "I Do" in a star-studded ceremony back in 2017 in New Orleans.
The lavish wedding was attended by Beyoncé, Kim Kardashian, and Anna Wintour, to name a few.
Serena also opened up about motherhood, as she and Alexis share three-year-old daughter Alexis Olympia.
"I always knew I wanted kids. I never knew when but I always knew I wanted kids at some point," she said.
"I learned that love is an amazing feeling. And if you have an opportunity to feel it, then it's a special thing."
Serena and Alexis' love story spans back to 2015.
The pair first met at a lunch and started dating in October of that year.
Alexis sat at a table reserved for her entourage at the Cavalieri hotel, in Rome, and she told him to move.
Alexis was hungover and refused to move despite Serena's camp saying there was a rat under the table.
Serena's very first words to her fiancé were: “We just don’t want you sitting there. We’re going to use that table.”
Then he joined them and the rest was history.
While they're not the most public of celebrity couples, Alexis has been supporting Serena's tennis career since they first got together.
