Serena Williams’ husband Alexis Ohanian has previously flaunted his dedication to making his wife happy since they married last November - but his recent gesture may be his most romantic yet.

The Reddit co-founder proved that he will do anything in his power to fulfil his tennis star wife’s wishes when he planned an impromptu trip to Venice to cater to Williams’ Italian food craving.

On an Instagram picture of the tech entrepreneur smiling as Williams enjoys a glass of wine, Ohanian wrote: “She wanted Italian for dinner, so…” and shared the location as Venezia, Italia.

The couple was also accompanied by 10-month-old baby daughter Alexis Olympia on the family outing.

Ohanian’s sweet gesture was praised on social media, where people called him “husband goals” and admired the adoring couple.

“Love it! Continue to treat that woman like the queen she is!” one person commented.

Another said: “Very romantic, you are the best husband ever.”

Others questioned whether Ohanian has any single brothers.

Ohanian also displayed his love for his wife in an Instagram of Williams posing in her tennis whites, which he captioned “Snack.”

Previously, Williams' doting husband dedicated four billboards to his wife in honour of her return to tennis.

The greatest tennis star of all time took a few months hiatus after the birth of baby Alexis in September before competing in Wimbledon.

Although the reason for the trip may have been to fulfil an Italian food craving, Ohanian wrote that the family will be back.

“Venezia made a great first impression on the family. We’ll certainly be back. But there’s work to be done…” he captioned a photo of the city.
