September heatwave forecast for Nottingham with temperatures reaching 25C

After what was a pretty awful month weather-wise in August, we look set to be getting a welcome autumn reprieve.

A mini heatwave looks set to bathe Nottinghamshire in high temperatures for this time of year with the mercury expected to reach 25C.

So it might not be time to put the barbecues away just yet.

For the next three days (September 2 to 4) temperatures in Nottingham will remain at 20C or below , the Met Office has said.

But the heat will start to rise during the weekend with 23C predicted on Sunday and sunny intervals.

It gets better though with Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (September 6 to 8) looking set to reach highs of 25C with bright sunshine also expected across each day.

Giving its long range forecast for the early part of September, the Met Office said: "Temperatures are likely to trend warmer than average across all parts, perhaps becoming very warm at times across sunnier parts of the east."
