Sephora Laforge: Tributes pour in after 15-year-old Edinburgh schoolgirl found dead in George V Park

Tributes are pouring in for an Edinburgh schoolgirl after a body was discovered in a park earlier this week.

The body of a 15-year-old girl, named locally as Sephora Laforge, was discovered at around 7:40am on Tuesday (22 October) in George V Park.

It is understood that the teenager was a pupil at Edinburgh's George Watson's College in the Merchiston area and was also an aspiring model and actress.

Heartbroken friends have since taken to social media leaving moving tributes following the teenager's tragic death.

One friend said: "Sephora Laforge gone but never forgotten. Rest in peace you gorgeous angel."

Elsewhere another said: "Sleep tight beautiful girl! Sephora Laforge"

Speaking to Edinburgh Live's sister site the Daily Record, one friend said: “She was gorgeous and funny. She was an absolute angel.

"I wish I could tell her everything is going to be OK. We are all devastated. This is the worst news ever. She told people she was feeling depressed and down but nobody thought this would happen."

The schoolgirl's friends are also planning to light lanterns in her memory on Friday evening, near the park at Scotland Street.

The teenager's death is not thought to be suspicious but police are treating the case as unexplained.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “At about 7.40am on Tuesday, October 22, the body of a female was found in the King George V Park, Eyre Place, Edinburgh.

“Inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the death are ongoing and the death is being treated as unexplained at this stage."
