PITTSBURGH _ "Dance Moms" television star Abby Lee Miller will return to federal court Tuesday, where a judge is expected to sentence her for concealing assets from her television contracts and dance seminars from bankruptcy and to smuggling money in bulk into the United States.
The hearing to determine her sentence has been held over two days, with the first in January and the second on Monday before U.S. District Judge Joy Flowers Conti.
Monday's hearing will extend into Tuesday because sentencing issues are still not resolved.
After a day of listening to arguments on both sides about how much harm Miller intended to cause her creditors, the judge said the sentencing guideline range for concealing assets is 16 to 20 months in prison and 18 to 24 months for the structuring international monetary transactions.
The defense is expected to present several character witnesses on Tuesday.
Miller became a federal felon in June when she pleaded guilty to concealing money from her TV show and to sneaking cash into the country in plastic bags stuffed into luggage after dance trips to Australia.
