Dog-lovers are being urged to offer a new home to a sensitive little dog.
Animal welfare experts are appealing to find a new home for Patch, a six-year-old Jack Russell Terrier, who is currently living at Dogs Trust West Calder Rehoming Centre.
His carers say Patch is a sensitive little dog who can be shy or worried when meeting new people, especially men.
A spokeswoman for Dogs Trust said: “Once Patch has got to know and trust you, he is friendly, loving and enjoys spending time with his favourite people.
“He is super playful, he loves his toys and can usually be found carrying them around.
“He even takes them on his walks.
“Patch prefers a quiet life and is looking for an adult-only home and to be the only pet in the house.”
Dogs Trust say that Patch will need patient new owners who can help him adjust to his new life and spend time with him.
The charity’s spokeswoman added: “He would like owners who have had experience of owning nervous dogs before and someone who can walk him in quiet areas away from other dogs.
“He would enjoy his own secure garden where he can spend some time off his lead playing his favourite game fetch.
“Patch is a typical Terrier who may be small in stature, but he has a big personality.
“He loves to go on adventures and is more than happy to jump in the car where he can explore or investigate new and interesting places.”
“After a busy day of exploring, Patch will happily curl up in his own cosy bed for a snooze.
“He is house-trained and happy being left for short periods of time.”
