Senior executive at sports agency behind Gareth Bale's Real Madrid transfer takes on Manchester Giants role

A senior executive at one of the biggest sports agencies in the world has joined the board of basketball team Manchester Giants.

Peter Lazard, the group finance director at ICM Stellar Sports, has taken on the role according to newly filed documents to Companies House.

Established by Jonathan Barnett and David Manasseh, ICM Stellar Sports has been the agency behind some of the biggest transfers in football history including Gareth Bale’s then world record transfer to Real Madrid.

It also works across rugby, athletics, American football and cricket.

The group today was formed in 2020 following the acquisition of Stellar Group by ICM Partners.

Mr Lazard joined the group as finance director in 2002 having first set up his own fruit juice business, supplying to supermarkets, restaurants, offices and shops in London.

In 1995 he became a private wealth manager for the family office of Stephen Rubin, owner of Pentland Group.

Manchester Giants were established in 2011, and admitted to the British Basketball League in 2012.
