Senior citizen FD interest rates up to 8.30%: This bank has revised rates on 3-year tenure; check other banks' rates

Shriram Finance Limited (SFL) has revised the interest rates on its fixed deposits (FDs), with the new rates coming into effect from July 2, 2026. The revision includes changes across multiple maturity tenures.

Under the revised rates, regular depositors can earn up to 7.50% per annum on FDs with tenures ranging from 36 months to 60 months, up from the earlier rate of 7.25%. Senior citizens (aged 60 years or above at the time of deposit or renewal) continue to receive an additional 0.50 percentage point, getting the effective interest rate of 8% on the same tenure.

Apart from senior citizens, women depositors are also eligible for an additional 0.05 percentage point FD rate, while customers renewing their matured FDs receive an extra 0.15 percentage point over the applicable interest rate.

With the revised rates, Shriram Finance's 8% interest rate for senior citizens on a three- to five-year FD is higher than the rates currently offered by most public and private sector banks for a similar tenure.

Here's a comparison of three-year FD interest rates for senior citizens across banks.
