Senior appointment drives Thomas & Adamson to double London revenue target

Edinburgh-based construction and property consultancy Thomas & Adamson has strengthened its London operations by appointing Peter Courtney as an associate director.

Courtney joins from AMDAS Management, where he was senior associate project director and managed the delivery of a portfolio of projects worth a combined £850 million. During his 18-year career, he has also held director-level roles at CBRE, Pellings, and Project Solutions Technical Solutions.

He will be responsible for generating “sustainable new workload and future opportunities, by cross selling business activities while helping improve and deliver project standards and outputs in the project management department”.

John Miller, a partner at Thomas & Adamson, said: “Peter’s strong track record and knowledge of the London and south east property and construction market means he will be a valuable asset to the team as we look to continue growth south of the border. Despite a significant portion of our revenue coming from clients based in Scotland, London remains a key region for us and we’re committed to doubling our revenue in the capital within the next two years.

“Due to a lack of undeveloped prime new build sites available across London, we’re already seeing a marked increase in planning applications for office refurbishments and alterations from clients. We also anticipate strong growth across both residential and mixed use to continue unabated for the next 18 months or so, regardless of the wider economic and political uncertainty caused by Brexit.”

Thomas & Adamson – which was founded in 1935 and has an office in Glasgow, as well as a presence in Ukraine, the United Arab Emirates and the United States – opened its London branch in 2001. In August, it appointed Vincent James to the new post of business development director in the city.
