Senegal police attack journalists

Journalists covering a banned street march against cost-of-living increases in the Senegal capital, Dakar, complained that they were manhandled by police who broke up the demonstration. One said he was injured by an electric baton. A photographer was forced to delete his pictures. Police also raided privately-owned Walf TV and ordered the station to stop broadcasting film showing police action during the protest. The footage was then confiscated.
