Send snaps of your little ones dressed up for Halloween to the Hamilton Advertiser

With Halloween set to be a very different event this Saturday, we are keen to see how you will be celebrating in 2020.

Whether you are having your own party at home, or dressing up for a video Zoom call, we’d love to see your costumes and hear how you’ll mark the event safely this year.

Equally, if your school still intends on having a Halloween parade we’d love you to send in those pictures.

You can send your pictures, including some details of what your child dressed up as, to news@hamiltonadvertiser.co.uk or via our Hamilton Advertiser Facebook pager.

Families and children are being urged to avoid guising this Halloween to minimise the risk of spreading Covid-19.

Deputy First Minister John Swinney says the move is necessary to ensure people stay within the restrictions on indoor and outdoor gatherings.

He said:“Under the current restrictions it is not possible to meet up indoors or in large groups outdoors, so the safest thing to do this year is to stay at home.

“I know guising is a big part of Halloween and children will be sad to miss out. But as door-to-door guising brings an additional and avoidable risk of spreading the virus, our clear advice for families is to avoid it.

“Children can still get dressed up and our Parent Club guidance has lots of fun and creative ideas.”

Advice on the Parent Club website suggests ways for families to have a safe Halloween at home.
