Senate candidate Young dithers on Trump and nukes

Rep. Todd Young would not say whether he thought Donald Trump should have access to nuclear codes, even though he got several chances.

In an interview with The Associated Press on Monday, Young, who is running for the Senate in Indiana against Democrat Evan Bayh, was asked the question multiple times.

"I'm comfortable with a complete change in direction in our foreign policy, and the Republican nominee has offered that," said Young, who is a retired Marine.

Young also said Hillary Clinton had disqualified herself from receiving a security clearance while Trump has not.

Trump's running mate is Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, who was largely seen as facing a tough re-election campaign before Trump tapped him.

The Rothenberg & Gonzales Political Report/Roll Call rates the race as Tilts Democrat.
