Semi Ojeleye finds new workout partner in former Los Angeles Laker

Semi Ojeleye has been fairly irrelevant throughout the course of the Boston Celtics’ 2018-19 season. After appearing in 73 games last season, the Celtics’ 2017 second round draft pick has only played in 39 games, averaging 10.5 minutes a game after logging 15.8 a night last year.

Recognized primarily for his defensive capabilities, it appears Ojeleye intends to make himself an integral part of the Celtics’ gameplan. According to Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe, the Celtics’ wing has found a new workout partner.

Known for his staunch defense as well as his emotional play, Metta World Peace was the NBA’s Defensive Player of the Year in 2004, a two-time All-Defensive First Team (2004, 2006) and two-time All-Defensive Second team (2003 and 2009).

The wing was on hand for the Boston Celtics’ matchup with his old team, the Los Angeles Lakers.

Needless to say, if he imparts any defensive wisdom on the Celtics’ young wing it could be career changing for him—and give Boston another weapon off the bench.
