Selfless Kilwinning youngster braved the shave to raise money for Ayrshire Hospice

Selfless Arran Milne braved the shave for the Little Princess Trust on April Fools Day and raised more than £900 for the Ayrshire Hospice.

The eight-year-old lad from Kilwinning saw an advert for Cancer Research when he was aged just six and decided he wanted to do his bit to help.

After growing his hair for the next two years, the Corsehill primary school pupil donated an amazing 10 inches to the charity.Arran also organised a raffle which raised £930 for the Ayrshire Hospice.

His mum Lorna said: “Arran is absolutely loving life with his new hair do, the only thing he misses is ‘rocking out’.

On the day I tried to keep myself together but couldn’t help welling up when we got to Undercutz the hairdressers. I am so proud of him.”
