Selfish flytippers block emergency services by dumping huge mound of rubbish on Leeds road

Tonnes of illegally dumped waste had to be removed from a Leeds road after it blocked access for emergency vehicles.

Yesterday, the Clean Leeds team from Leeds City Council cleared the plasterboard and loft insulation that had been dumped in Green Lane, Armley.

In a picture which can be seen above, a mound of cardboard can be seen discarded, with pieces broken and carelessly thrown into the middle of the road.

The rubbish completely blocked the road meaning any cars or emergency vehicles trying to access the road would have been blocked off.

A spokesperson for Clean Leeds said: “Tonnes of Plaster Board & loft insulation removed today from #green lane #LS12 after someone decided to Dump it & block access for Emergency services & Refuse #Yourwaste #Yourresponsibility #crimenottocare please #report it if you see it #oneleeds #onelove @James_A_Rogers".
