Losing weight is not easy! It takes time, patience, consistency and a lot of determination. But above all, one must learn to prioritize being healthy over everything else. While shedding kilos may be your ultimate aim, you must make sure that your health and wellness are in sync with your journey.
Anshula Kapoor, entrepreneur and sister of Bollywood actor Arjun Kapoor, recently shared a picture of herself in gym clothes flaunting her incredible transformation with a note to self. Although the post centered around her jaw-dropping body transformation, she made it extremely clear as to how important it is to love herself, what she calls a "perfectly imperfect me".
What does "being healthy" mean to her?
In the post, Anshula wrote, "Note to self: Talk a little nicer to yourself today."
"For me today, being “healthy” means so much more than what I look like in the mirror. One of my first steps to becoming a healthier me was to acknowledge that mentally I wasn’t in the best place, and that I had to address what was eating me from the inside before I could even begin working on anything else," she adds.
She reveals her mental health struggles during this time and had to undergo therapy. She says, "It took so much therapy. So many tears. So much uncertainty. Fear. Setbacks. Discomfort. Self doubt. Then came the self realisations. Thus began the healing.”
Even after the two years long journey, Anshula mentions how she is still a "work in progress". She says that it took a long time for her to realise her self-worth, that it wasn't tied to the shape of her body and that being critical of her flaws and imperfection would not benefit her at all.
That said, the star kid ends her note saying, "I am flawed, and still worthy 🤍"
Like sister, like brother
Just like Anshula, Arjun Kapoor had also lost about 50 kilos before making his mark in the Bollywood film industry.
He had posted a before and after image of himself, writing, "Just putting it out there that I love every chapter of my life. Those days & even now, I have always been myself at every step of the way. I cherish every bit of it."
Reminiscing his mother's words, he says he understands what she meant when she said that life is a journey and you will always be a constant work in progress.
