Selena Gomez has fired back after receiving criticism when she confirmed her relationship with fellow musician Benny Blanco.
The Love You Like A Love Song singer, 31, revealed that she has been secretly dating the music producer for six months.
She also shared a picture of herself wearing a diamond "B" initial ring on her left hand on the finger typically reserved for an engagement ring.
This didn't sit well with her fans, who accused him of "shading" her in the past."Lol yeah and he’s still better than anyone I’ve ever been with. Facts," she replied.
She added: "He has been the best thing that’s ever happened to me."
"He is my absolute everything in my heart,’ she wrote under a post on fan page @Selenagomezbr2.0, which is where she also confirmed how long they had been together.
In another post, the @feelingsforsel fan page accused Gomez of "trolling" fans with her comments.
She was having none of it however, insisting she is "never trolling", before announcing she is taking a step back from the social media platform until she needs to be back on to promote her projects.
She wrote: "Never trolling. I’m leaving Insta for a while until I have to work again. I just stand up for what I believe in. I have no shame doing that. I love my fans more than anything in the world."
Gomez has kept her love life firmly under wraps in recent years having previously been in high profile relationships with Justin Bieber and The Weeknd.
