Selena Gomez 'forever grateful' to Francia Raisa for 'blessing' her with new kidney

Selena Gomez has taken to Twitter to share her continued gratitude towards her friend Francia Raisa for donating her kidney to her.

The Lose You to Love Me singer required the life-saving transplant in 2017 after she suffered complications from the autoimmune disease lupus.

The Grown-ish star bravely stepped in to help her friend and the singer has once again told how she's "forever grateful" for her actions.

Selena, 28, retweeted Francia's post on Twitter in which she continued to try to raise awareness about kidney disease.

Alongside a photo of her smiling from her hospital bed following the operation, the 32-year-old tweeted a thread which read: "If you've been following me for a while, you know that I've kept my kidney donation process pretty private.

"However, I think I’ve gotten to a point in my life where I feel comfortable and confident in speaking about my experience, and using my platform to raise awareness for the various kidney diseases that affect our population.

"While I wasn’t affected personally by kidney disease, I’ve seen the impacts of it firsthand and want to do my part to help educate others on it.

"So in honor of World Kidney Day, let’s talk about the impact of kidney disease and how we can work to ensure those living with kidney disease are living well."

She then shared information on how her followers could find out more about World Kidney Day and asked her followers to check it out and learn some new facts.

Since her operation, Selena has continued to be an outspoken advocate for people suffering from Lupus.

She revealed how she didn't feel comfortable showing people her scar at first but has since said how she now understands that she wouldn't be here without it.
