Selection of QB Daniel Jones eliminates Giants as potential Josh Rosen destination

With the sixth overall pick in the 2019 NFL draft, the New York Giants affected the Arizona Cardinals. They selected Duke quarterback Daniel Jones.

By selecting a quarterback in the first round, it all but eliminated them as a potential trade partner for Cardinals quarterback Josh Rosen.

The Cardinals selected Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray No. 1 overall, making Rosen expendable.

The Giants had been connected to the Cardinals as a potential destination for Rosen. Other teams who still could be in the mix are the Washington Redskins, who reportedly are not interested now, the Miami Dolphins, Los Angeles Chargers and New England Patriots.

Most expect the Cardinals to have a deal in place for Rosen at some point during the draft, but if they do not get the price they hope, general manager Steve Keim could hold on to him through the offseason until a need arises for a team because of injury.

With Murray already drafted, where Rosen lands now becomes the most intriguing storyline of the draft for the Cardinals.
