Navas claim

The Magpies tested the waters over a potential January deal for Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Keylor Navas, according to RMC Sport.

However, the Ligue 1 leaders 'closed the door' on any potential exit for the Costa Rican international.

Navas has made 17 appearances so far this season despite the summer arrival of Gianluigi Donnarumma on a free transfer from AC Milan.

Derby 'set' to sell Knight

Jason Knight has impressed at Derby County since making his breakthrough two years ago, but the Rams' financial issues could lead to a mid-season exit.

Graeme Shinnie has just been sold for a nominal fee of £30,000, and the Times claim Knight could be the next to head out of the exit door.

The report credits Newcastle along with Burnley and Leeds United with an interest in the 20-year-old, who is under contract with County until the summer of next year.

The Republic of Ireland international is said to be valued at £8m, but the failure to find a buyer for the club could lead to a cut-price deal being sanctioned.
