Sefton Park to run monthly nature walks after hugely popular first event

Liverpool has no shortage of beautiful parks, and certainly no shortage of people to appreciate them - and now you can explore one of the most stunning in a new way.

Community group Friends of Sefton Park has launched monthly nature walks to encourage visitors to get more in touch with the park itself, after a hugely successful first event.

The first walk took place on April 7, with a group taking a stroll through the grand estate, exploring the foliage and even taking time to visit the enormous black walnut tree.

Friends of Sefton Park tweeted: “We spotted plenty of solitary bees, grebes, moorhens, tree creepers, robins, squirrels, the infamous parakeets, 2 Dawn Redwoods & talked landscape design” about the first walk, revealing just what visitors can expect.

They also revealed they have many more in the works, including walks dedicated to sketching, photography, foraging and even the history of Sefton Park.
