Sefton Park Palm House to transform into a magical underwater garden

Sefton Park’s Palm House will be transformed into a magical underwater garden next week.

The Grade II listed building is set to be bathed in a mystical underwater effect on October 12 in honor of it’s original benefactor Henry Yates Thompson.

For one night only, the Palm House will feature music from Q-Quartets, and a range of entertainment from awe-inspiring aerial acrobatics and stilt walkers to fireworks and DJ sets from internationally-acclaimed DJ Yousef.

The venue will look like an Octopus' Garden (handout)

The night will be overseen by Poseidon and his handmaiden as the venue becomes an Octopus’ Garden.

The night also includes a cocktail on arrival, a four course meal, and wine for the table.

The Henry Yates Thompson dinner is an annual celebration which aims to raise money for the Palm House.

Thompson is considered the ‘original benefactor’ for the building, having donated £10,000 to construct ‘the great conservatory’ in 1896.

Tickets for the dinner cost £76 per person and are available via Ticket Quarter .
