'Seen the light!' - Excited Arsenal fans react to what Mikel Arteta has done against Chelsea

Mikel Arteta's team selection for this evening's Premier League fixture against Chelsea has got a number of Arsenal fans talking.

The Gunners go into the game on the back of a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Manchester City on Tuesday night as they crashed out of the EFL Cup at the quarter-final stage.

And Arsenal's recent Premier League form isn't much better.

Without a win since beating Manchester United at the beginning of last month means Arteta's side sit 15th in the table with 14 points from 14 games.

But in an attempt to get his side back on the winning trail in the Premier League and to avoid a six-game winless run at home in the competition, Arteta has made several changes to the side which started against City.

Eight to be exact.

As expected, Bernd Leno, Hector Bellerin, and Bukayo Saka are among those recalled after being rested three days ago.

There is also an immediate recall for Granit Xhaka after serving his three-match suspension as he partners Mohamed Elneny in central midfield.

Arteta has also handed a first Premier League start of the season to Emile Smith Rowe as well as Pablo Mari, while captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is fit enough for the bench.

Arsenal XI: Leno; Bellerin, Holding, Pablo Mari, Tierney; Elneny, Xhaka; Saka, Smith Rowe, Martinelli; Lacazette

Most of the reaction from Arsenal supporters on social media has centred around the inclusion of Smith Rowe in the side coupled with no David Luiz or Willian in the matchday squad.

Take a look at some of the best responses on Twitter...

@JackSimmons101 said: "Bellerin usually turns up against Chelsea, Smith Rowe given a chance and Martinelli starting. Let’s all get behind the lads and hope we get back to winning ways. COYG."

@nahianpranto said: "Arteta has seen the light. We're winning today."

@JBL_Wale said: "Martinelli and Rowe. Pray for Chelsea."
