'Seen enough!' - Chelsea and Scotland fans in agreement on Billy Gilmour after Luxembourg clash

Billy Gilmour had an eventful game during Scotland's 1-0 defeat of Luxembourg.

The Chelsea midfielder impressed in his 30-minute cameo, coming off the bench to showcase his excellent vision and tidy range of passing.

However, his evening ended prematurely, picking up a nasty knock to his head after a challenge from Vorskla's Olivier Thill

The 19-year-old went down clutching his head with 15 minutes left in the contest and was eventually replaced by James Forest in what looked like a precautionary measure from Scotland boss Steve Clarke, with less than one week to go until the tournament begins and only eight days until the Tartan Army play their first match at a major tournament for 23 years.

But there was some concern for supporters of both club and country in seeing him go off, with commentators describing the teenager as looking groggy as he exited the pitch.

After the game, Chelsea and Scotland fans took to Twitter to heap praise on Gilmour while also criticising the challenge that saw him forced off.

Both sets of fans will be hoping the midfield maestro can recover quickly as he hopes to feature for Scotland in their opening Euros 2020 game against the Czech Republic next Monday.

Former Scotland striker Billy Dodds was impressed with Gilmour's performance before coming off.

"I've got a feeling Gilmour will play a big part in the tournament," he told BBC Sport.

"He's got no fear. That's what excites you. But I see Callum McGregor starting against Czech Republic and hopefully that will get us the three points."

Gilmour could face off against his Chelsea teammates Reece James, Ben Chilwell and Mason Mount when Scotland play England in their second group match on June 18.
