Seeing off the sea train

A train to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Seto Ohashi bridge, which links the major islands of Honshu and Shikoku across the Seto Inland Sea, gets ready to depart from JR Okayama Station as Okayama Gov. Ryuta Ibaragi, second from right, and others signal its departure on Tuesday morning. The special six-car train bound for Matsuyama Station in Matsuyama features an observation carriage and a commemorative plate marking the bridge's 30th anniversary. About 100 passengers participated in a two-day train journey exclusively offered for the occasion.
