See where analytics project Bears to finish in 2019 in these way-too-early record projections

While it’s certainly too early to make predictions for the 2019 season, that hasn’t stopped some from doing just that.

NFL Network’s Cynthia Frelund used her analytics to predict the records for all 32 NFL teams in 2019. And while her projection for the Bears is a slight drop-off from last season — projecting 10-6 — it still looks good enough to repeat as NFC North champions.

Frelund has the Bears’ stiffest competition in the NFC North being the Green Bay Packers, who she has also finishing at 10-6. The Minnesota Vikings come in at third with an 8-8 record, and finally the Detroit Lions bringing up the rear at 6-10.

Replicating their success from last season won’t be an easy task. But with the Bears returning most of their starters from a year ago, all of the pieces remain in place.

The offense is gearing up for its second year in Matt Nagy’s system, which allows them to focus on the fine-tuning rather than learning. While the defense lost defensive coordinator Vic Fangio to Denver, new DC Chuck Pagano aims to make this a seamless transition for arguably the league’s best defense.

The Bears will face six playoff teams from a year ago in 2019, including the New Orleans Saints, Los Angeles Rams, Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, Los Angeles Chargers and Kansas City Chiefs.
