See the new murals lighting up a busy Glasgow road ahead of the Commonwealth Games

ONE of Glasgow's busiest roads has been given a new lease of life by new murals which showcase athletes ahead of the 2026 Commonwealth Games.

Artists from Studio Residents, a community from within SWG3, have crafted the murals which can be seen from the Clydeside Expressway.

They feature swimming, cycling, athletics and others which spectators can see when the games arrive in the Dear Green Place on Thursday, July 23.

Eilish McColgan can be seen in one mural, immortalised after winning gold and silver at the 2022 Birmingham games.

Alongside her is Duncan Scott who made history by winning more than any other British athlete at a single Olympic Games during the 2024 Olympics, becoming Great Britain's most decorated swimmer in Olympic history.

They join a swarm of incredible athletes visiting the city in the summer alongside thousands of travellers who will be able to take in the gorgeous sights as well as the events.

Pedestrians can find the murals by walking from Kelvinhaugh Street down to Pointhouse Road where they sit on the arches facing the Clyde.
