See the moment Simona Halep took down Serena Williams in Wimbledon final

Simona Halep is now a two-time Grand Slam champion, defeating Serena Williams, 6-2, 6-2, in the 56-minute Wimbledon final Saturday. The 27-year-old former world No. 1 from Romania also won the 2018 French Open.

Williams was playing in her third Grand Slam final and for her first major win since returning to the court after giving birth to her daughter in September 2017. She was looking for her 24th Grand Slam title, which would tie Margaret Court’s all-time record.

Halep had an answer to everything Williams threw at her and was all over the court in a spectacular performance. She out-played Serena at every turn.

Williams’ serve was not dominating the way it often does, and she had 26 unforced errors, which Halep took advantage of almost every time.

When it was over, Halep still seemed to be in disbelief for a moment before realizing she won another Grand Slam title with one of the best matches of her career.
