This stunning footage captured spectacular flashes of lightning and the deep rumbles of a thunderstorm in Northumberland.
Gary Holmes shot the video just after midnight in the early hours of Thursday in Newbiggin-by-the-Sea.
The footage opens with a brief flash of purple on the skyline, before cracks of thunder roll across the coastal town.
The heavy rainfall is then punctuated with several more rumbles of thunder throughout the footage.
Describing the video, Gary said: "I was working on some video editing with a headset on, and felt a rumble.
"I took the headset off, checked the CCTV but couldn't see or hear anything.
"Then I saw a flash at my window. I knew straight away it was a storm.
"I grabbed my camera and went to check it out."
