See Tesla's Famed Cybertruck Being Assembled by Hand in Leaked Video

Tesla's (TSLA) -) Cybertruck, which has long fascinated the general public with its sci-fi look right out of Ridley Scott's classic film "Aliens," is drawing close to Chief Executive Elon Musk's promised ship date.

After many delays, the vehicle went into production in July. He sent out a message via his X (formerly Twitter) account, stating simply "200K," which is thought to be the number of preorders Tesla has received for the Cybertruck so far.

Now a newly leaked video from inside Tesla's factory has surfaced via the Cybertruck Facebook group, and while it is brief, it shows a team of employees clustered around the vehicle, which is on a trolley.

While the body is assembled by robots per Tesla, the video shows that the vehicle is then assembled by hand, a practice typically used by automakers when new models are first manufactured.

Naturally, Musk continues to play the role of the Cybertruck's No. 1 hype man.

“Demand is so far off the hook, you can't even see the hook,” Musk said of the Cybertruck during the company's Q2-earnings call on July 20.

“So that's really not an issue. I do want to emphasize that the Cybertruck has a lot of new technology in it, like a lot. It doesn't look like any other vehicle because it is not like any other vehicle.”
