See Newcastle's Silent Disco Adventure in action as unique event hosts a party tour

The sight of a Silent Disco Adventure in action certainly added some colour - if not much sound - when took to the streets of Newcastle on Saturday.

The flash mob-style experience saw a mix of ages take up the invitation offered by the Silent Adventures company to enjoy an improvised party in the city centre.

And a dull, rainy start to the weekend was cheered up by the sight of the group - led by Mat Urey clad in bright yellow - clapping and dancing to the music - a range of genres and hits from across the decade - only they could hear in their high-tech headphones.

First, the assembled group - who had booked tickets online to join the event - joined company staff in a warm-up around 3pm on the concourse inside The Gate ahead of an hour-long tour around what Mat called the "biggest dance floor": the city centre itself.

Silent Disco

It is the fourth visit to Newcastle by the company whose actors, dancers, comedians, and singers have proved a sell-out success in unique shows at the 2018 Edinburgh Fringe.
