See Nationals fans go nuts celebrating World Series win

Another Washington franchise can call itself champions (and that’s why District of Champions was trending Thursday morning).

The Nationals won a thrilling Game 7 of the World Series over the Houston Astros, giving the franchise that had never won a title (even when they were the Montreal Expos) its first championship.

And fans celebrated accordingly. They were in the streets of DC and at Nationals Park for a nail-biter of a viewing party to watch the game on the big board. There were others around the country.

So here are a few photos and videos of how Nats die-hards — in the rain! — enjoyed their favorite team winning its very first ring:
