The 2019 NFL Scouting Combine is in full swing, with a round of press conferences from coaches and general managers sandwiched between getting official measurements for this year’s participants.
The big-ticket attraction at this year’s event is Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray, the Heisman Trophy winner who spurned the Oakland Athletics to pursue a football career. Already a top-10 pick in the Major League Baseball draft, Murray’s entry into the 2019 NFL draft has given fans, analysts and NFL teams alike a huge wild-card.
One of the biggest questions Murray had to answer in Indianapolis was his size, and his official measurements were handed down Thursday morning:
Many expected Murray to measure in at under 5-10, so that’s a solid number for him, as is the weight that should give him a solid frame, something he’ll need to hold up against NFL defenses.
Murray still has a few things to prove if he wants to be the first quarterback off the board in this year’s draft, but his predraft process is off to a solid start in Indy.
