See it: Tracy Morgan roasts Odell Beckham over Giants trade

Former New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., who currently plays for the Cleveland Browns, made a big splash at the 2019 ESPY Awards on Wednesday, debuting a brand new look and a rather bizarre new style.

Not only did Beckham light up the red carpet, but he was also among the presenters who handed Giants running back Saquon Barkley his award for “Best Breakthrough Athlete.”

But to kick off the show, Beckham was targeted by comedian Tracy Morgan, a lifelong Giants fan and host of the night’s festivities.

“Anthony Davis went to the Lakers. Kawhi went to the Clippers,” Morgan said. “And Odell Beckham Jr. went from my Giants to the Browns. And Odell is sitting there like acting like it was a great idea. The only reason people leave New York for Cleveland is because they are in witness protection.”

Beckham offered little reaction initially, just pointing at the camera and giving a little head shake.

“I don’t care what Odell thinks,” Morgan added. “He’s down there and I’m up here.”

It was at that point however, the camera caught Beckham mouthing the words “I got lucky.”

Beckham was traded to the Browns earlier this offseason in a deal that also sent linebacker Olivier Vernon to Cleveland, landing the Giants safety Jabrill Peppers, guard Kevin Zeitler and some draft picks in return.

In the aftermath of that trade, Beckham has repeatedly taken jabs at the Giants, proving that he’s not yet over the deal that clearly caught him off guard initially despite statements to the contrary.
