See it: Titans’ Derrick Henry honors Kobe Bryant with $85K chain and pendant

The only event to shake the sports world to its core quite like the coronavirus outbreak in recent times was the death of basketball great, Kobe Bryant. He, along with eight others, died in a helicopter crash on Jan. 26.

Several athletes have found ways to pay their respects since the tragedy, including Tennessee Titans star running back Derrick Henry, who called Bryant “favorite athlete of all-time.”

In honor of the Black Mamba, Henry bought an $85,000 chain and pendant with 35 carats of diamonds to show his appreciation for the player he grew up watching, according to TMZ.

Zofrost, a jeweler that has also worked with players like like Lamar Jackson, Deshaun Watson and Earl Thomas, was responsible for creating the piece.

Expensive?

Absolutely, but Henry’s not exactly hurting financially — hardly any professional athlete really is.

Here’s a look at the masterpiece.

Henry also paid respects to Bryant at the NFL Honors show, where he wore a jacket lined with Bryant’s two jersey numbers and the Los Angeles Lakers’ colors.

Henry might not have a long-term deal locked-in with the Titans for 2020 after winning the rushing title in 2019, but he is currently on the franchise tag that will pay him $10.2 million next season.

Not too shabby.
