See it: Golden Tate posts proof he grew up a Giants fan

After officially signing his contract and being introduced as a member of the New York Giants on Friday, wide receiver Golden Tate revealed it had been a life-long dream to play for Big Blue after having grown up a fan.

“I’ve been a New York Football Giants fan growing up and I’ve always admired — really this entire division,” Tate told reporters on Friday. “I remember just always seeing the Giants on TV growing up and always kind of picturing myself maybe playing there one of these days, and it’s kind of truly awesome that that time has come and I’m excited about the opportunity to play for this team.”

Of course, it’s one thing to say you were a fan of the team you just signed with; it’s another to prove it.

So, what did Tate do after making his fandom reveal? He proved it by posting a childhood photo of himself decked out in Giants gear. More specifically, Phil Simms’ No. 11.

If that’s not enough to prove how much Tate loves the Giants organization, the photo of him hugging a Giants helmet after officially signing his contract should do the trick.

While some may remain somber in the aftermath of Odell Beckham Jr.’s trade, there’s something very likable and exciting about Tate in New York.

No, Tate is not here to replace Beckham’s production, but he’s a quality wide receiver who loves the organization and will be a benefit to both the team and community. It’s hard not to love that.
