See it: Giants’ Daniel Jones rumbles in for his first NFL score

The New York Giants changed eras earlier this week, benching veteran Eli Manning in favor of rookie Daniel Jones and his fresh legs.

Newly under center, Jones experienced a few growing pains early in Week 3 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but was quick to adjust to what he was seeing. And after a beautiful drive early in the second quarter, head coach Pat Shurmur called a play specifically for Jones to cap off the series.

Facing a second-and-goal, the Giants set up in shotgun formation and sent everyone to the left, causing the Buccaneers to sell out on Saquon Barkley.

Instead of handing it off, Jones pulled it back and took off to the right, out-running his pursuer to the corner of the endzone.

Jones’ feet are a unique element to his game and that alone can create chaos for opposing defenses. The Buccaneers and Bruce Arians experienced that for the first time of what the Giants hope to be many.
