See it: Giants’ Daniel Jones celebrates with Duke following Week 7 win

The Duke Blue Devils hosted the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets at Wallace Wade Stadium on Saturday evening, and they received an emotional pre-game boost from a long-time friend.

Unbeknownst to many in the locker room, New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones was in town and decided to stop in before his former team took the field.

“It’s a great locker room, great energy and a lot of enthusiasm. Daniel Jones walked in and that took care of a lot of energy. I’m very appreciative of him coming back to see his friends and be with them. This team understands the value of hard work at practice. They understand the value of focus,” Duke coach David Cutcliffe told reporters after the game.

Jones’ presence helped motivate his former teammates, who took it to Georgia Tech from the jump, ultimately walking away with a 41-23 win, which improved their record to 4-2 on the season.

After the game, Jones once again found his way to the locker room where the Blue Devils welcomed him with open arms.
