See it: Eli Manning surprises frontline worker on Mother’s Day

Retired New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning has spent much of his post-retirement time being a father and a husband, but he’s also done a lot of work to ensure that all frontline workers feel appreciated for their selfless efforts during the coronavirus pandemic.

Manning has released multiple videos through the Giants and other avenues to express that thanks, while also joining “Rise Up New York” and the “All In Challenge.”

You can now add one more to Manning’s list.

For Mother Day’s, Manning teamed up with ESPN to surprise Christianne Calderon, a critical care nurse practitioner at New York Presbyterian/Columbia who also happens to be a hardcore Giants fan.

But Manning wasn’t alone. New York Yankees legend Derek Jeter, Toronto Raptors star Kyle Lowryand tennis great Roger Federer also got involved in thanking frontline workers.

Check it out:

“Just a sincere thank you for being on the front lines, for your work, for your commitment and for your selflessness” Manning said. “I think those three words — especially that last part, that selflessness — describes what a hero is.

This is the kind of thing we’re all here for during this difficult time.
