See it: Dwayne Haskins reacts to Giants selecting Daniel Jones

Quarterback Dwayne Haskins, who ended up landing with the Washington Redskins, grew up a fan of the New York Giants and was never shy about letting that be known. In fact, he repeatedly remarked on how much he’d love to play for Big Blue.

But when the Giants came up at No. 6, it wasn’t Haskins’ name who they were calling. Rather, that distinction went to Duke quarterback Daniel Jones.

At the time of the announcement, Haskins, who passed on attending the draft in person, had cameras on him and rolling. His reaction was very representative of how Giants fans felt.

Check it out:

After finally getting the call from Washington, Haskins had time to settle down and express his thoughts. And while he didn’t mention the Giants directly, you could just feel he was taking aim at them.

“I’m more motivated than ever, there’s a bigger chip on my shoulder, the league done messed up,” Haskins told reporters. “I’m right down the street, so we’re going to do it right this time. So it’s crazy.

“I’m just getting ready to play football. There will probably be the biggest chip on my shoulder there’s ever been.”

For the sake of general manager Dave Gettleman and his Giants legacy, he had better hope Jones out-performs Haskins in the long run or this is a decision that could haunt the Giants for over a decade.
