See it: Daniel Jones shared jersey exchange with former Duke star

For well over a year, it seemed as though it was an inevitable match made in heaven that Duke superstar Zion Williamson would end up playing for the New York Knicks.

As hard as the Knicks may have tried to tank in order to get the No.1 pick, the ping-pong balls didn’t fall their way. Not only that, but the Knicks missed out on big free agent ticket items in Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving to their division rival Brooklyn Nets.

Instead, the New York fan base would eventually have to settle for Zion’s teammate, RJ Barrett, who has shown promise so far in his short rookie campaign. Little did they know they would also get another star from Duke in quarterback Daniel Jones.

It wasn’t exactly a warm welcome when the Giants decided to take the Duke product sixth overall in this year’s draft. Not long after, Jones was booed at Yankee stadium. After his first performance against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Jones was soon to be embraced by Giants fans.

Knicks rookie RJ Barrett attended Monday night’s game to support the hometown Giants.

With both Duke first round picks showing promise in their young careers, the future could be bright for both the Knicks and Giants. Most would agree that both teams are currently rebuilding. However, it seems as though both teams have made steps in the right direction following their selections of the former Duke stars.
