A clumsy bride fell down the church steps after tying the knot and caught the moment heart-stopping moment on camera.

Bianca Bosso, 33, fell and landed on her knee after slipping on the steps when coming out of the church with her new husband, Sam Murphy, 30, a music journalist.

The newlywed jumped up and rushed over to see if her photographer had caught the moment and was thrilled to see that she had.

Bianca – who cut her knee open – admits she is a “clumsy person” and that she’s “not surprised” something like that happened to her on her big day.

Bianca, a designer, from Sydney, Australia, said: “As soon as I slipped I went over to the photographer and asked: ‘Did you capture that?’

“She had, and I just thought: ‘This is iconic.’

“This is hilarious.

“I was running on so much adrenaline.

“I cut my knee open.

“There was blood but no need for plasters.

“The day was so magical, so it didn’t even matter.

“I’m quite a clumsy person.

“It was expected.”

Bianca and Sam had originally planned to tie the knot in June 2020 but had to postpone their day due to coronavirus restrictions.

Eventually, the pair arranged to have their wedding day in Ostuni, Apulia, Italy, in June 2022 – as Bianca has Italian roots.

“We were exiting the church literally just celebrated getting married,” Bianca said.

“Just before we left someone stood on my veil.

“Then when I went down the stairs, I got a crack, or they were slippery where the stone were worn, and I fell.

“My husband caught my fall.

“I can’t believe it happened.”

The couple decided to have their wedding bands designed with the old date crossed through and their official date next to it.

“We just take things in our stride,” Bianca said.

“The fall was so funny.”
