See inside the new Heron Foods discount store now open in Aspley

Discount grocery retailer Heron Foods today (April 29) opened its latest store in Aspley.

16 jobs have been created at the outlet at the junction of Melbourne Road and Aspley Road, on the site of a former Morrisons Local.

It is the seventh Heron Foods in Nottingham - with others in Bilborough, Bulwell, Clifton, Rise Park, St Ann's, and the intu Broadmarsh Centre.

Chilled foods, frozen foods, groceries and household products are sold by the company which started out 40 years ago and since 2017 has been part of the B&M group.

The Aspley store is open from 8am to 8pm, Monday to Saturday and from 9am to 5pm on Sundays.

A representative from the Salvation Army Church in Aspley opened the store and was presented with a cheque for £250. Goodie bags were also given away to the first 100 customers.

Things you can still do at Nottingham's intu Broadmarsh Centre (apart from just using it as a cut-through)

You can now get Nando's meal kits at Tesco and Asda - so you can have Peri-Peri chicken at home

Primark could be about to launch an online click and collect service
