Micheal O Muircheartaigh has had a busy life, working as a GAA commentator and raising eight children with his beloved wife Helena.
The 90-year-old has been married to Helena, who he has previously described as "a bit younger" than him, for an incredible 50 years, reports RSVP Live.
Speaking about how he proposed to the love of his life, the fluent Irish speaker revealed that he did so "bilingually", in the Downshire Arms Hotel in Blessington, Co. Wicklow.
Micheal spent lockdown cocooning with Helena, and spoke to Miriam O'Callaghan on the Late Late Show back in March about their experience.
"I decided to go on self isolation for the past 14 days, neither myself, Helena or Aengus - my son who’s with us, he was meant to be elsewhere but he was caught here - we haven’t gone outside the gate in 14 days.
"We’re managing okay and hoping that things are going well and that we’ll see the end of it, but there’s a little while to go yet.
The Kerry man added: "But it’s great to see the unity, all the people that came together. You don’t appreciate the power of coming together until you see it in operation.
"An awful lot of people are co-operating right now and it’s wonderful to see."
